INDIA'S GOVERNMENT SPENDING COMPOSITION AND ECONOMIC GROWTH

Government spending is an integral phenomena in every economy. It affects the aggregate demand, level of economic activity and resource allocation. Though the required size of government expenditure for economic progress is an issue of debate on account of different and contradicting results of empirical studies, the necessity of government spending itself can't be denied. The variation in direction and size of growth effects of public spending across studies can be attributed to the fact that it affects growth through multiple channels. It can improve human capital and infrastructure, which have positive externalities for the economy or it can harm the economic growth by promoting the corruption and large, inefficient bureaucracies (Parekh 2008).

Changing age structure is one of structural change that witnessed in the last century. Population ageing is one of its consequences, which emerges as a global phenomenon in the present day. It is generally expressed as older individuals forming large share of the total population. This process is considered to be an end product of demographic transition or demographic achievements with a decline in both birth and mortality rates and consequent increase in the life expectancy at birth and older ages. The Indian aged population is currently the second largest in the world to that of china with 100 million of the aged. The absolute number of the over 60 population in India will increase from 77 million in 2001 to137 million by 2021.The condition of the aged women is more vulnerable than men. This paper is an attempt to know the various social, psychological , economic and health problems faced by the aging women.

Teacher Educators’ attitude towards Teaching Profession in relation to Organisational Culture.

Teacher training colleges (B. Ed colleges) are having remarkable effects on the development of the country because these training colleges make the prospective teachers who are going to shape and direct our country. Due to this fact, the researcher focuses on teachers educators’ attitude towards teaching profession in relation to organizational culture. The sample of 288 teacher educators’ was collected from teacher training colleges (B. Ed) affiliated to University of Mumbai. The major findings of the study revealed that there is significant relationship between attitude towards the teaching profession and organizational culture scores of teacher educators for Types of institution (Aided and Unaided teacher training colleges), Years of experience (3 – 8 years and 8 and above years) Gender wise and Total sample.

DEVLOPMENT OF CONCEPT INVENTORY ON NERVOUS SYSTEM (CINS) FOR STUDENTS OF STD. 12TH

Study of biological concept, such as, nervous system involves abstract mental process and various sources of misconception makes learning this concept more difficult. The effective learning and conceptual understanding can be thoroughly evaluated by using concept inventories. Considering the significance and extensive use of concept inventory for assessing student's conceptual understanding, exploring level of knowledge and bringing out their misconceptions, we decided to develop and validate biology concept inventory on nervous system. The aim of this tool is to reveal student's understanding and misconceptions about various sub concepts of nervous system.
